Chili Flakes, Capsicum annuum
Also called Red Pepper Flakes or Crushed Red Pepper and also spelled Chile Flakes. A blend of hot and mild chili flakes that are rated at about 35,000 heat on the Scoville scale. Commonly used for sprinkling on pizza, for pickling spices, and adding to sauces, soups, sausages, etc. Best stored in refrigerator if keeping long-term in order to prevent browning and loss of flavor.
