Sage, White Whole Leaves, Salvia apiana
Wildcrafted sprigs of white sage on stem; not bundled into wands or sticks. White sage is used like incense. Leaves may occasionally be spotted with brown after periods of heavy rain. Note that this does not affect its use, just its appearance. This item is too brittle for herb crafting.
Thujone (sage contains this) is toxic in excess amounts. It can cause convulsions and reduce breast-milk production.
Thujone can also trigger epileptic seizures. Do not take essential oil during pregnancy. Pure sage oil should not be ingested or applied full strength to the skin. The herb can interact with anticonvulsants, disulfiram, insulin, and other diabetic therapies.
