Welcome To Our Blog!
Our recipe is very simple to make and the rewards are many. This tinted foundation is creamy and moisturing, but remember it is sheer, so it won't cover imperfections. But, your skin will heal because of the wonderful, chemical free ingredients.
Place the first four ingredients in a glass container. I use a glass measuring cup with a spout, making pouring easlier. Melt these ingredients by whichever means you wish: micro oven, sitting in a pot of hot water, or my favorite, a candle warmer.
When warming butters, you should melt them at the lowest heat possible. That's why I love the candle warmer method, and it also keeps water condensation from collecting inside the glass container. Water can cause your finished product to spoil quickly.
When the first four ingredients are completely melted, add rest of the ingredients, and blend VERY well. I use a small hand mixer, but a whisk works well too. The zinc oxide is a little hard to mix in, but keep at it for about five minues. I mix while the glass is still sitting on the candle warmer. It sets up fast if it is allowed to cool.
Pour in your choice of container. If you want a softer foundation, simply add less beeswax. This recipe makes two 20 ml containers. If you see white on top like in the photo above, that's normal. You may double the recipe with great results.
This is the amount of cocoa to use for your shade in the recipe above.
Very Light - 1/4 Tablespoon cocoa
Light - 1/2 Tablespoon cocoa
Medium - 1 1/2 Tablespoon cocoa
Dark - 2 1/1 Tablespoon cocoa
Very Dark - 3 1/2 Table cocoa
In the photos above, I made a medium shade. My most popular shade is light, which is my shade as well.
