It’s a fact of life, that every woman between the ages of 13 and 51, give or take a few years, has to endure menstruation every month.
Most women breeze through this time with little problems.  But, like me, there are women who are not that lucky.  I’m almost 53, and according to my gynecologist, I’m a little overdue to ending menstruation.  Just my luck!
In the past five years, my periods tend to be heavy and more cramping than normal.  My physician assures me that this is normal and everything is okay, but being an herbalist, I created several tea blends that have helped me and other women with their different issues.
These blends are in no way a replacement for your physician’s care.

Tea Blend Recipes

Heavy Periods and Cramps

If your periods are heavy with uncomfortable cramping, than this tea blend is for you.  Restores vitality and balance.

This special tea blend helps:
  • tone uterus
  • regulate periods
  • provide needed nutrition such as iron and other depleted vitamins

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz. Red Raspberry leaves, dried
  • 1 oz. Nettle, dried
  • Stevia, dried (not the white stuff), Honey, Lemon, Etc. (opt.)

Directions:Mix all herbs together, and store in a glass jar.  Use as needed.
Boil 1 cup water, pour over herbs, cover and steep 1-2 teaspoons for 10 minutes. Remove herbs, and enjoy with stevia, honey, or lemon every morning.  Can be taken everyday, but starting a few days before period works for me.  Can be used 2-3 times daily.

Irregular Periods

Amenorrhea, the medical term for the loss of periods in women who should be having regular periods, is a sign that something in the body has gone wrong.
Sometimes overlooked for more “flashy” herbs in this current day, mugwort is still a favorite of wise women. Mugwort has an affinity for the female reproductive system and is used as a uterine stimulant that can bring on delayed menstruation and help restore a woman’s natural monthly cycle.

This special tea blend helps:
  • regulate periods
  • provide needed nutrition such as iron and other depleted vitamins

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz.  Mugwort herb, dried
  • 1 oz. Nettle, dried
  • Stevia, dried (not the white stuff), Honey, Lemon, Etc. (opt.)

Directions:Mix all herbs together, and store in a lidded glass jar.  Use as needed.
Boil 1 cup water, pour over herbs, cover and steep 1-2 teaspoons for 10 minutes. Remove herbs, and enjoy with stevia, honey, or lemon every morning.  Can be taken everyday,  1-3 times daily.
*Not for prolonged use
